Introduction :

Trained craftsman are further sent for Apprenticeship. During apprenticeship they are getting  'On the Job Training'  as an Apprentice. Regular CTS trades are designated for apprenticeship under various industrial establishments.  All Industrial establishments must engage required no. of Apprentices under this scheme as per Apprentice Act 1961,

Objectives :

    To provide "On the Job Training [ OJT ]" to CTS pass out trainees.

Salient Features :

• Seats are reserved for various categories as directed by Govt. of Maharashtra.

• There is parallel reservation for Physical Handicapped, Project Affected, Ladies, etc.

Apprentice Recruitment Process :

1. AGE : The candidates of 14 - 40 years of age as on date of start of admission session are eligible for admission.

3. QUALIFICATION :  The academic qualification prescribed for the trade varies from class VIII pass to Class XII pass depending upon the trade. The trade vise prescribed qualification are given in prospectus with admission form.

4. RESERVATION OF SEATS :  As per norms of Govt. of Maharashtra

5. START OF SESSION :  Apprentice Engagement Schedule

Apprentice Testing And Certification :

All-India Trade Tests for ATS are conducted by the DGET, under the aegis of the National Council for Vocational Training in October/November and April/May  every year for various trades.

The trainees of affiliated Institutes/ trades and eligible private candidates appears in the        trade tests. National Trade Certificates are awarded to the successful candidates.

National Trade certificate is a recognised qualification for recruitment to relevant posts in Central Govt., State Govt., Government Local Bodies and Public / Private Industries.
